See Chad Peery in 1978 at Cal Jam II, playing Bass with Bob Welch, Mick Fleetwood, and Stevie Nicks

What a rush for a kid from a small town!  Nothing like this back in Yreka, CA!

Band members: Drums- Lee Kix.  Rhythm Guitar and vocals- Jorge Calderone.  Lead guitar- Todd Sharp.  Keyboard- Dave Adelstein. .

Note:  Irrespective of the conjectures of some casual observers, I was always like that on stage.  At that time in my life I was shy and quiet, until you got me onstage with a guitar slung over my shoulder.  Then, the true me came out, and man, was he ever a ball of energy.

Bob Welch's French Kiss Album.

This is the album that had just been released when Bob formed the road band at the end of 1977.   After we began our tour in the early months of 1978, the single "Sentimental Lady" hit the top ten, followed by "Ebony Eyes."  The album went double platinum (sales of over two-million copies), and the remainder of that year we found ourselves opening up for top-tier bands of the day, in large concert halls, arenas, and stadiums.  We played with Foreigner, Heart, the Starship, Cars, Steve Miller, LRB, and of course, the biggest group of that era, Fleetwood Mac.  What a rush, playing sold-out football arenas like JFK stadium.  At the time, I don't think any of us realized what a special year we were living, and it went by so quickly.
Much, much later!  Backstage at Fleetwood Mac in Fort Lauderdale, June 2003.  L to R
Susan Peery (by then, my ex.)
Chad Peery (me)
Stevie Nicks
Bret Tuggle (keyboards during my  Steppenwolf years, and then for Stevie and Fleetwood Mac)
* Taking the photo was my wonderful (and since departed) wife, Jace Peery, who was camera shy.
Stevie was intrigued by how Susan, Jace and I were all friends.  I didn't know how to explain it at the time, but I've
come to understand that it's about releasing the past, and living in the present.
