Welcome! I'm Chad Peery. Please check out samples of my new books, Stealing Margo and Smoking Jimi. Both are suspense novels written in the new Rock Fiction
genre. The stories are about musicians who are drawn back into the
music world by mistakes of the past. Obsessive desire, in its myriad
forms, along with an endless buffet of temptations and dangers spices the adventure. But, ultimately, each book is about rock music and personal relationships. They were a blast to write, and even more fun to read. Enjoy!
Yes, I drew upon my experience playing with Steppenwolf and Bob Welch in writing these books. See more by clicking on the tabs above.

Bonnie and Chad |
Chad Peery Today and Yesterday Bonnie and I have been together for two wonderful years! We're both outdoor enthusiasts, photography nuts, history buffs, enjoy good books, and, most important of all, we grew up in small sawmill towns (much like the protagonist in Stealing Margo).
Posing as the
author I would hope to become, I sport a pipe given me by my adoring
grandfather, and contemplate the
meaning of a Brownie Instamatic. Look closely-- you can see
it in the eyes, they are not those of a child. As for the rest, it's
pure kid. |
Chad Peery growing up in Yreka, CA |
I had the privilege of living in West Virginia when I was
inspired to write the first draft of Stealing
Margo. My roots in the area go back to the
1700's when my ancestors arrived at Burke's Garden, near Tazwell in
western Virginia. That area is rich with
Peerys, and is culturally the twin of its northern
neighbor, West Virginia. I'm also related to the Hatfields, and I'm happy to report that
the little misunderstanding with the McCoys has been resolved for some time now.

In Stealing
Margo I portray the West Virginia mountains as idyllic,
magical, and surreal. If you've never been there, I suggest you go see for yourself, especially when the leaves are
changing. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Almost Heaven
indeed! cp
